Amy Lawson PLLC offers therapy for individual and couples in a variety of life stages. Amy Offers Strengths based, collaborative therapy for Clients experiencing anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, or just difficulty adjusting to a new Life event. Clients include students in high school, college, and graduate school, as well as adults adjusting to a variety of situations including parenting, career changes, and shifts in family dynamics. Amy Provides In Person Therapy in Ann Arbor and SAline Michigan, and Teletherapy throughout Michigan and Ohio.

New Parents

As a Certified Perinatal Mental Health specialist (PMH-C), Amy is passionate about helping new and expecting parents transition to life with a child (or children). Becoming a parent often involves unanticipated anxiety or sadness over role transitions. Amy works with moms, dads, and partners to ease the transition and develop confident parenting. Amy also works with families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, including TFMR.

Adults

Whether you are experiencing temporary stressors, or have a history of anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder, Amy will work collaboratively with you to improve your mood and develop a toolkit of coping skills. Amy uses cognitive behavioral therapy as well as interpersonal techniques.

Women in Midlife

Amy also enjoys working with women who are experiencing the challenges that come with being 40+. With growing kids, aging parents, and new career roles, midlife presents a unique set of issues. Add in hormonal fluctuations and many women experience increased anxiety or depression. Learn new coping strategies for taking on this phase of life.

Amy works with adolescents ages 14+ on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, and the stress of the modern world.

In addition to working with individuals, Amy also helps couples improve communication and build upon strengths in their relationship. With a background in Family Systems Theory, Amy enjoys helping couples from diverse backgrounds.
