Amy has over 15 years of experience providing person-centered therapy services to a wide range of clients in Southeast Michigan. She obtained her MSW from Wayne State University in 2008. Amy has worked in Community Mental Health centers as well as in traditional outpatient settings. She is a LMSW (licensed masters social worker), and holds certifications in drug and alcohol counseling (CAADC) as well as in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). Amy works collaboratively with clients to develop treatment goals, and seeks to provide clients with tools to improve functioning. Amy utilizes techniques from cognitive behavioral and acceptance and commitment therapy. Before becoming a social worker, Amy obtained a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Michigan. Amy enjoys working with clients from diverse backgrounds, and works to understand client challenges within a cultural context. Amy is licensed to provide services in both Michigan and Ohio.
Outside of the professional setting, Amy is parent to an active tween, and enjoys reading, running, swimming, triathlon and weightlifting.
